Remote Testing

In the context of STEACS project we developed a first prototype (the final product is now named EB tresos Inspector) for remote testing of the FlexRay bus protocol. In the context of the DECS project we extend and research the testing topics towards a system test.

twTester

In a loose cooperation with Audi Venture Electronics GmbH we have developed a star-coupler for automotive bus networks with enhanced test capabilities. The twStarAnalyzer supports up to six configurable FlexRay, CAN, LIN or RS232 channels, two enhanced FlexRay channels plus one Fast Ethernet channel for bus monitoring and fault injection. Device control and data transfer is handled via dedicated software on a remote host PC via a high-speed USB2.0 interface. Furthermore, control and status information are available via a Bluetooth interface with enhanced data-rate capabilities.

The monitoring and fault injection software operates on both the frame and signal level and allows to control, configure and display the relevant data in various different ways. The application itself is implemented using the GTK+ libraries and is made available for Linux and Windows based hosts.

twNode

The twNode platform serves as prototyping platform for electronic control units employing FlexRay, CAN and Gigabit Ethernet. It is built using standard AVNET / Memec Virtex-4 development boards that are enhanced with a custom made P160 expansion board. The required software stack was adapted for a seamless integration to the development toolchain form Elektrobit.
