Diagnosis: Tester Node
The prototype of our implementation adopts a COTS FlexRay node from DECOMSYS termed Decomsys::Node<Arm> to implement the embedded tester node.
This prototype is built using:- a custom hardware relying on an Altera Excalibur FPGA device hosting an embedded ARM processor core and
- an embedded RTAI Linux firmware part.
The following figure illustrates a block-diagram of the hardware architecture of our tester node.

For our purposes we have implemented several monitoring and replay units, a fine granular timer and several modules for data interfacing (IP-interface, Flash-disk interface, etc.) next to a COTS FlexRay protocol engine.
