Diagnosis: Test Environment

In the STEACS project we consider FlexRay bus systems as target of our distributed test approach. Some fundamental properties of FlexRay based distributed systems are:

  • static and dynamic segments
  • two channel network interfaces
  • bus speeds up to 10 Mbit/s
  • linear, star or mixed bus-topologies
Fundamental to our test approach is to add a tester node to a distributed FlexRay-based system that provides data monitoring at different levels of abstractions within the layers of the communication controller. Assuming a properly functional tester node it is possible to narrow the location where the fault originated after a fault was detected.


Therefore one of the first steps in our project is devoted to the analysis and development of a fine granular layer model suited for the needs of this idea.
