Michael Kramer was born 1974 in Vienna. After earning an mechanical engineers degree (Ing.) in HTL Schellinggasse he studied Electrical engineering at the Vienna University of Technology, specialising in Computer Technique. During his study he worked as an electronic developer for a small company specialised in model-racing electronics. After graduation he changed job location to a company located in lower Austria, which, amongst other items, was specialised in traffic signalling, where he was at first employed as an development engineer and responsible for hard- and firmware development. Later on he leaded the development team of the "Road-Traffic" profitcenter.
In September 2006 he became staff member of the Technikum Wien, associated to the department of Embedded Systems dealing with lecture and research projects. From 2009 to 2012 he was head of the the City of Vienna Competence Team Embedded Platforms. From May 2013 to April 2018 he was involved with three research modules of the Josef Ressel Center VECS. Michael Kramer left the university in Februar 2020.
