Eric Armengaud was born in 1978 in Paris. After three years at ESIEE Paris, he interrupted his study for a practice at the Philips Technology Center in Vienna, where he developed a new way to detect commercials at television (patent number 862,289 May 22, 2001). Then he specialized in microelectronic design and studied at the Vienna University of Technology as exchange student. He graduated at ESIEE Paris and received his Master degree (Diplome d'ingénieur) in 2002. After working one year for DECOMSYS GmbH, he joined the Embedded Computing Systems Group at the Vienna University of Technology as scientific staff member. There, he started his PhD study related to the STEACS project.
