Twins GmbH

General Information

Twins GmbH (TWINS) is a pioneer in multirotor drone technology, specializing in the manufacturing, development, and design of high-performance drones since 2012. With over a decade of experience, we’ve established ourselves as a trusted name in drone innovation, delivering robust and precise aerial systems that meet the diverse needs of modern industries.
Beyond our excellence in drone engineering, Twins GmbH offers a comprehensive range of specialized surveying services. Our drones are equipped to conduct digital photogrammetry, providing detailed 3D mapping and geospatial data for land surveying, urban planning, and environmental projects. Additionally, we perform inspection flights that capture high-resolution visuals from hard-to-reach areas, offering safe and efficient alternatives for infrastructure checks on assets like wind turbines, power lines, and buildings.
Our expertise also includes volumetric analysis, ideal for industries needing accurate material and inventory measurements, as well as environmental monitoring for sustainable resource management. For construction sites, Twins GmbH’s drones provide ongoing documentation, capturing each phase of the project to support planning, tracking, and compliance.
With Twins GmbH, clients benefit from state-of-the-art drone solutions and advanced data insights that transform the way industries operate, making them safer, smarter, and more efficient.

Role of the partner within SAMURAI

Twins GmbH will mainly focus on the work packages two, five and six and assist its partners in all the other work packages actively. In work package two, twins will help develop concepts and use-cases based on the UAV requirements. As an established drone manufacturer and drone operator with many years of experience, twins will bring valuable input towards the project. In work package five, twins will mastermind the physical prototyping as well as the assembly of the two different Y-shaped drone frames. For each drone frame a total of three versions are built in order to allow for extensive testing including the risk of total hardware failure. In a first step, the drones will be assembled according to the manufacture’s standards in order to proof the general airworthiness of each frame. In a second step, the hard- and software components developed in work package four will be implemented into the drone replacing its corresponding COTS part. Finally, twins will initially test and evaluate the performance of the final, upgraded drones. In work package six, twins will aid the validation tests and conduct the flight missions required for the performance analyses.
