Role of the partner within SAMURAI
Within the SAMURAI project, IFAT is the leader of WPs 2 and 3. In WP2 (Concept Development), IFAT will focus on developing a comprehensive electrical/electronical copter system, especially focusing on the propulsion concept that comprises propeller, motor, inverter as well as and power supply and distribution, meeting performance and safety standards. Furthermore, the design of a flight-controller concept that utilizes automotive-qualified and safety-certified products together with air pressure sensors will be covered.
Moving on to WP3 (Design), IFAT will develop the electric hardware for the target unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system, comprising a power supply system (batteries and power management), a high-efficiency propulsion subsystems and a sophisticated flight controller with capability to operate a real-time operating system for reliable and safe operations. IFAT will cooperate with other partners who implement the according algorithms and software to the UAV's.
IFAT will also support WP4 for the implementation and WP5 for testing the UAVs according to the target mission requirements. In WP6 IFAT will also contribute to publications as well as to new products and systems, in case they are useful for other customers in this market.
