Benjamin Klaus was born in April 1991. After graduation at the HTL St. Pölten (department of Electronics) and attending the civilian service he studied Software & Information Engineering at the Technical University Vienna (Bachelor degree). Afterwards he worked part-time as a software developer and at the same time studied Health Assisting Engineering at the FH Campus Vienna (Master degree). For his master thesis he developed "AsTeRICS-Ergo", an extension of the existing AsTeRICS framework that allows to intuitively and easily set up an environmental control system. From 2017 to 2024 he was working as a researcher in the ToRaDES project, which focuses on smart homes and assistive technologies. In 2024 Benjamin Klaus moved to the Department of Computer Science.
